I paid, but the app still shows the paywall

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchase. This asks Apple which purchases your Apple Account owns and re-enables the full course. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on.

I can't hear anything

Check the volume, and check that the device is not in Silent mode — although the app is set up to play pronunciation even with the ring switch off. Pronunciation is generated on your device by the Thai system voice, so it needs no network connection, but it does need a Thai voice to be installed. If Settings inside the app shows no voice name, add one under Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → Thai.

How do I cancel the yearly subscription?

On your device: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Thai Alphabet → Cancel. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date stops the next charge.

How do I start over?

Settings inside the app → Reset all progress. This clears every character's progress, your streak and your lesson history from the device. It cannot be undone, and it does not affect your purchase.

Why isn't grammar or conversation included?

By design. The app does one thing: get you reading Thai script properly, including working out the tone of a word you have never seen. Grammar and conversation are much larger undertakings and are better served by a dedicated app or a teacher once your reading is solid.

Why is ก written "g" and not "k"?

Because "k" misleads English speakers. Thai ก has no puff of air, and an English speaker reading "k" will aspirate it and not be understood. This course uses the aspiration-explicit spellings — ก as "g", ป as "bp", ต as "dt" — that Thai teaching materials use for exactly this reason.

The Royal Thai General System you see on road signs spells them the other way. Where the two disagree, both are accepted when you type an answer, so you are never marked wrong for knowing the other convention.

Why does the app say ฃ and ฅ are obsolete?

Because they are. Both fell out of use around 1900 and were replaced by ข and ค — including in their own names. They are shown in the chart for completeness and are never taught or drilled, which is why the app is sometimes described as teaching 42 living letters rather than 44.

The pronunciation sounds flat

iOS ships a compact Thai voice by default and downloads the better one only on request. For a tonal language that difference is the product. Go to Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → Thai → Kanya and tap the download arrow next to Enhanced or Premium. The app picks it up automatically the next time you open it.
