Privacy Policy

Your learning progress stays on your device. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites. The app collects anonymous usage analytics, which you can turn off in Settings. The course and native recordings work offline. Optional speaking checks use Apple's speech recognition, which may send audio to Apple with your permission. Purchases use Apple's StoreKit.
What stays on your device
The app stores your learning progress so it is still there next time you open it:
- which letters and signs you have met, and how well you know each one
- your review schedule, answer history and accuracy
- your daily goal, current half of the course and streak
- which lessons you have completed
This is written to a private database inside the app's own storage on your device. The progress database is never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone. We cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it permanently.
Anonymous usage analytics
To fix and improve the app, it collects anonymous usage analytics: which screens are opened, taps and feature use, that a lesson was completed (with counts such as how many questions were answered), purchase events (started, completed, cancelled, restored), the app and iOS version, the device model and your approximate location (country or region, derived from your IP address). Each event carries a random identifier created on your device at install. It is not your Apple ID, name, email or advertising identifier.
Events are sent to Amplitude, an analytics provider that processes them on our behalf. Amplitude Session Replay may record a masked replay of screen activity in which text is hidden. Audio from tone practice and speaking checks, recordings and transcripts are never recorded or sent. Where enabled, RevenueCat also receives purchase and entitlement events keyed to the same random identifier. You can turn analytics and replay off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share analytics. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites and we do not use your data for advertising.
Widgets and tone practice
If you add a widget, the app shares a small snapshot of practice dates, answer counts and familiar letters with its own widget extension through local App Group storage. This data stays on your device. Resetting progress clears the widget history when iOS next refreshes the widget.
Tone practice uses the microphone only when you choose to record an attempt. The app measures the pitch on your device and discards the recording. These attempts are not saved or uploaded.
Optional letter-name speaking checks
In builds with “Say it back”, you can choose to let Apple's Speech framework recognize a Thai letter name. We explain this before you enable checks, and iOS separately asks for speech recognition and microphone permission. We use on-device Thai recognition when Apple reports it is supported. Otherwise, audio is sent to Apple to recognize what you said.
The app uses the returned text only to show pass, retry or an inconclusive result. We do not save audio or transcripts, and neither is sent to the developer. The app stores successful practice counts locally. Apple's handling is described in Siri, Dictation & Privacy.
You can skip every speaking check, turn checks off in the app's Settings, or revoke microphone and speech recognition permission in iOS Settings. Tone pitch practice remains entirely on your device.
Purchases
If you buy the full course, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your name, email address, or payment details. The app only ever asks Apple a yes-or-no question: does this Apple Account own the full course? Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
We do not receive personal information about learners. Optional speech recognition is handled by Apple as described above. Its current age rating is displayed in the App Store listing. It contains no advertising, no external links to the open web from inside the learning experience, and no user-generated content.
Third parties
The app contains Amplitude (analytics and masked session replay) and, when enabled, RevenueCat (purchase recording). It contains no advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs. Optional speech recognition and purchases use Apple services under Apple's privacy terms. No recordings or transcripts are sent to us.
Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. The data on your device is under your control: deleting the app removes it, and the app's Settings screen has a "Reset all progress" option that clears it without deleting the app.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
